Zoom talk: Amber Khokar, Insights into the Arts of Islam
16 December @ 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Artist Amber Khokhar believes that ‘21st Century London, as a ‘superdiversified’ city would have fascinated Morris, not only as a melting pot of cultures but as a nexus of ideas’. Join Amber as she shares insights into the Arts of Islam and her practice in the Traditional Arts – explore parallels with Morris’ cross cultural exploration of colour pattern and modes of production.
Commissioned by HRH Prince Charles, Amber is the first person to design a modern carpet for Buckingham Palace. Working from her London studio Amber’s highly collectable paintings continue to be exhibited nationally and internationally.
